Italy Retreat Logistics

How to get there & getting around.

Location

Farmhouse name: Centro Montauto
Address and Google Map: 53040 Rapolano Terme Province of Siena, Italy

Arrival and check out times

Arrive at the farmhouse anytime after 1pm on May 31st.
Departure time is before noon on June 7th.

Airport

The nearest airports are:
Rome, Florence (Firenze), and Pisa
The Milano airport is also very accessible by train

Rental Cars

Renting a car is highly recommended. We do not provide any transportation to and from the farmhouse or plan any group outings. Having your own transportation makes exploring Tuscany much easier and gives you the freedom to make your own schedule and be spontaneous!

Train to car rental

If you prefer not to ren your car in Rome, Florence, or Milan… we suggest taking the train to Chiusi to rent your car. The train station name is: Chiusi-Chianciano Terme

From the train it is a short walk to Europcar, Avis, or Hertz to get your rental, then it’s appx a 40-minute drive to the farmhouse.

Train arrival

If you’d like to arrive by train to a nearby town, we suggest Chiusi-Chianciano Terme to rent a car.

If you are meeting someone who has rented a car, the nearest train station to the farmhouse is: Sinalunga.

Trenitalia is the Italian train system. If you are taking the train from the Rome Airport, the station name is: Fiumicino Aeroporto

Sightseeing and day trips

We don’t organize a schedule for the group to follow but are happy to suggest some of our favorite experiences.
Nearby towns to research: Montepulciano, Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, Montalcino, Cortona, Arezzo, Sienna, Perugia, San Gimignano, Volterra

Car share

Please email Chelsea if you want to share a car with another person from the group and we will do our best to connect you to make a car rental more affordable.

Food Allergies

Please share any food allergies or dietary restrictions that you have so we can let the farmhouse know ahead of time.

Yoga Props

This studio is very well stocked with all the yoga props we could dream of. Yoga mats are provided, but if you prefer to bring your own, please feel free to do so!

What to bring

Our advice is to pack light! There is great shopping in the nearby towns, and if you plan to shop, leave a little room in your suitcase. Bring a small flashlight or headlamp to navigate around the property at night.

Weather

It’s amazing weather in June in Italy. Bring a swimsuit if you want to take advantage of the nearby natural hot springs, and consider bringing a light sweater for evenings. 10-day forecast for the area.

WiFi

There is reliable internet service at the farmhouse.

Cash/Exchanging money

Money Exchange

In our experience, the best exchange rate is at the ATMs in Italy vs the money exchange counters in the airport. Consider taking some Euro out from your US bank before departing so you have a little cash available on arrival.

Hotel Tip

A cash tip will be collected and offered by the group as an appreciation for the kitchen crew and cleaning staff.
